This is IU on her first debut stage on M Countdown performing “Mia”. If you watch the video here, you can hear the butthurt anti-fans screaming insults at her (very clear starting around 2:21).

In this album, she also has other fab songs such as Ugly Duckling (aka. “Mieun Ori”, 미운 오리), or You Know (aka. Itjannah, 있잖아). “You Know” eventually turns into a rock version of her next album.

Personal Favorites: I really, really like her other two tracks, “Feel so good” and “Every Sweet Day“. They aren’t as popular as her other three songs, but they have a really good feel to them.

IU grabbing all of the Korean ahjussi’s hearts

 

IU starts getting really popular with her new title song, Good Day. She was getting famous for her “3 high pitched notes”. Once someone gets really famous in the Korean industry, they must have a nickname, so IU’s new nickname was “Korea’s daughter”. Also, she is involved in variety shows (Heroes) and k-dramas (Dream High).

Personal Favorites: One of my top favorite songs is, of course, Good Day. Overall, I really like this album, but one of the songs I listen to frequently is “Night of 1st Breakup” or whatever the actual English translation is. It’s more of a mellow song, reminiscent of her other ballad songs in the Growing Up album. It’s the perfect song to fall asleep to.

Her title song was gifted by songwriter Yoon Sang. It’s a very emotional song with an emotional MV.

Personal Favorites: There’s basically only 2 songs in this album, but I want to highlight the other song, “Cruel Fairytale”. The song has a very magical/creepy feel to it and also has an emotional feel different from the title song. The lyrics may seem kind of depressing, but it’s a song that is very different from any other IU song I have listened to 🙂
